Troy McDonald, Harvard Extension School

Troy McDonald has been a fixture in Wisconsin media for the past decade; starting with Wisconsin Public Radio and NPR affiliate WGTD in 2011. McDonald is the only Black person and the only openly gay broadcaster on the air in the Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth County listening areas of Wisconsin. McDonald covered the violent upheaval in the aftermath of the shooting of Jacob Blake. His coverage won a Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Award. McDonald is currently a Master's Degree student at HES studying government and will be graduating next year.
